UrgentCall us straight away
After any injectable treatment, call our 24-hour clinical line on 020 7946 0517 if you notice skin turning pale, white, blue-grey or mottled, pain that is getting worse rather than better, or increasing swelling, heat or redness.
Call 999 or go to A&E if you have any change in your vision, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling of the lips, tongue or throat. Then tell us.
0–6 h
Hands off
- Don’t touch, rub or massage the treated area unless we’ve shown you how
- Avoid make-up for the rest of the day
- Stay upright for 4 hours, with no lying flat or face-down
0–24 h
Keep it calm
- No strenuous exercise, sauna, steam room or hot yoga
- Avoid alcohol, which can increase bruising
- A cool compress (wrapped, never ice directly) can ease swelling
- Paracetamol is fine for tenderness. Ask us before taking anti-inflammatories
Days 2–14
Let it settle
- Swelling and small bumps usually settle within a few days
- Avoid facials, massage, dental treatment and flights for 2 weeks if you can
- Results develop gradually, so judge them at your review, not in the mirror on day two
Day 14
Your review
- Come back for your included review appointment
- We compare photographs and agree any adjustment
0–24 h
Gentle only
- Rinse with cool water. Use only the cleanser and moisturiser we give you
- No make-up for 12 hours after a light peel, 24 hours after a medium peel
- Avoid exercise and heat, which can increase redness
Days 2–5
Don’t pick
- Let flaking skin come away on its own. Pulling it can mark the skin
- Keep using a bland moisturiser as often as you like
- Pause retinoids, acids and scrubs until we say
Every day
Sun protection
- Broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning, reapplied outdoors
- A hat and shade for 2 weeks, and no sunbeds
- Sun on freshly peeled skin is the main cause of pigment problems
Next visit
Course check
- Peels are usually repeated every 2–4 weeks
- Tell us about any lasting redness, dark patches or cold sores
0–24 h
Clean & bare
- No make-up for 24 hours while the tiny channels close
- Clean hands, a clean pillowcase, and phone screens wiped
- Expect redness and tightness, like mild sunburn
0–48 h
No sweat, no heat
- Avoid the gym, swimming pools, saunas and hot baths
- Skip actives, exfoliants and fragranced products
Days 3–7
Back to normal
- Slight dryness or flaking is normal. Moisturise well
- Restart your usual routine gradually, unless we’ve advised otherwise
- SPF 50 daily, without fail
4–6 weeks
Next session
- Collagen remodelling takes months, so improvement is gradual
- We review progress before every session
0–24 h
Cool & calm
- Skin may feel hot. Cool (not cold) compresses help
- Sleep with your head slightly raised to reduce swelling
- No make-up until we say, usually 24–48 hours
Days 2–7
Let skin renew
- After resurfacing, skin may look bronzed and feel rough as it renews
- After pigment treatment, spots may darken and flake off over 7–10 days. Don’t pick them
- Use only the products we’ve recommended
4 weeks
Strict sun care
- SPF 50 every day, and no sun exposure or tanning (including fake tan) for 4 weeks
- Tell us straight away about blistering, crusting or signs of infection
