“Leave it better than you found it, and tell them what you did.”

That was Ray's only rule when Jess started as his apprentice in 2009. It's still painted inside the van door. She added EV and solar, but the job hasn't changed: turn up when we say, do it properly, and explain it so you'd know what to do next time.
