What the codes mean.
Every observation on an EICR gets a code. Any C1, C2 or FI makes the report unsatisfactory, and the work must be done within 28 days, or sooner if the report says so.

- Every five yearsGet the installation inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every five years, or sooner if the last report says so.
- CopiesGive existing tenants a copy within 28 days, new tenants before they move in, and the council within 7 days if asked.
- RemedialsDo any required work within 28 days (or the period on the report) and get written confirmation it's done.
- Keep recordsKeep the report and confirmation to give to the next inspector.
