Power trouble? Call us, any hour.

Tick anything happening now.
Any one of these means call now. If none apply, it can probably wait for a booked visit, which costs less.
Five calm things to do.
Only if it's safe. If there's smoke or fire, get everyone out and call 999.
- 01
Switch off at the board
The main switch is usually the large red or black one on the left. Use something dry and don't touch the board if it's wet or hot.
- 02
Don't touch wet fittings
If water is near electrics, keep away from the area, switch off at the board if you can reach it safely, and put a bowl under any drip.
- 03
Unplug what you can
If a single circuit keeps tripping, unplug everything on it. Try resetting once. If it trips with nothing plugged in, the fault's in the wiring.
- 04
Check the street
If your neighbours are off too, it's a power cut. Call 105, the free national power cut line, to reach your network operator.
- 05
Keep fridge and freezer shut
Food stays cold for around four hours in a closed fridge and a day or two in a full freezer.
What it costs, before you call.
