HomeNervous patients

You're in control, from the first hello.

Around one in four adults feels anxious about the dentist, and some haven't been for years because of it. Whatever your reason, it's valid, and it's where we start.

What worries people most

Six fears, six answers.

The sound

"I can't stand the drill."

Bring headphones or borrow ours. We'll say before anything noisy, and many visits involve none at all.

Injections

"It's the needle."

Numbing gel first, then anaesthetic given slowly. Most people tell us they barely felt it.

Embarrassment

"It's been years."

No lectures, no judgement. We start from today and plan at a pace that suits you.

Control

"I hate not knowing."

We explain each step before it happens. Raise a hand and we stop, every time.

Gagging

"I gag easily."

Sitting more upright, frequent breaks, and a small 3D scanner instead of impression trays.

Pain

"What if it hurts?"

We check you're numb before starting and keep checking. Tell us any time and we'll pause.

Questions

Asked often.

Can my first visit be just a conversation?
Yes. The meet-and-talk visit is twenty minutes in a consulting room, not the treatment chair, and it's free.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. They can sit with you throughout.
What if I need to stop halfway through?
Then we stop. We'll make the tooth comfortable and plan the rest for another day.
Will I be asleep with IV sedation?
No. You'll be deeply relaxed and may remember little, but you can still respond to us. General anaesthetic is only provided in hospital.
