How much notice do you need?
72 hours for single-tier cakes, five days for the almond and olive oil sponge (it has no gluten ingredients, so we bake it first thing on a clean bench), and seven days for two tiers. The builder works out your earliest date.
Is the almond sponge gluten-free?
It has no gluten ingredients, but it’s made in a kitchen full of wheat and rye flour, so we can’t call it gluten-free and it isn’t suitable for coeliacs.
Can I change or cancel?
Free of charge until 2pm two days before collection. After that we’ve bought the fruit and baked the sponge, so we charge half. Cakes are made to order, so they sit outside the usual 14-day cancellation right.
How do I get it home?
Flat in the footwell of a car, not on a seat. Two-tier cakes are stacked on collection and need a car. Keep it cool, out of the sun, and take it out of the fridge an hour before serving.
Do you deliver?
Not cakes, sorry: we’ve seen what potholes do to buttercream. Collection only, from Brockley or Forest Hill.
