Who owns Biscuit Lane Vets

Biscuit Lane Vets is an independent practice, owned by Dr Tom Pryce and his family. It was founded by Ann Pryce in 1979. We are not part of any corporate group, we don't share ownership with any other practice, and we have no financial ties to the out-of-hours provider, the crematorium or any pharmacy we may recommend.

Our out-of-hours partner, Mendip Night Vets in Shepton Mallet, is a separate business. We tell you this so you can make an informed choice.

Prescription notice and fee

You can ask us for a written prescription for any prescription medicine your pet needs, rather than buying it from us. You may be able to buy it more cheaply from another vet, a pharmacy or an online retailer.

A written prescription costs £18 (free for Biscuit Club members). We can only prescribe for animals under our care, which usually means seen by a vet within the last six months for ongoing medicines. Order a repeat prescription on our find us page.

Estimates and bills

We'll give you a written estimate before any treatment likely to cost more than £300, and update it if things change. Every bill is itemised. Our full price list includes VAT and is dated.

Complaints

If something hasn't gone right, please tell us. Speak to anyone at the front desk, or write to Lucy Chapman, our head nurse, using our contact form. We'll acknowledge it within two working days and aim to reply in full within ten.

If we can't resolve it together, you can contact the independent Veterinary Client Mediation Service, which is free to use.

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people using screen readers, keyboards or magnification.

• Body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute to be easier to read for people with low vision. We chose it because many of our clients read this site while worried, on a phone, holding a pet.
• Text sizes start at 18 pixels, and colours are chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast.
• Opening status and checker results are always written in words, never shown by colour alone.
• Everything works with a keyboard, focus is always visible, and animations are reduced if your device asks for less motion.
• In the practice: step-free access, a hearing loop at the front desk, an accessible toilet, and large-print price lists on request.

Privacy

On this concept site, nothing you type is sent anywhere. Bookings, registrations and saved articles are kept only in your own browser, and you can clear them at any time.

At a real practice, we would only use your details to care for your pets, send reminders you've asked for, and share records with another vet with your permission.
