While you wait
A pharmacist can advise on pain relief. Always follow the instructions on the packet.
- Toothache Rinse with warm salty water (not for young children), avoid very hot, cold or sweet food.
- Lost filling or crown Keep the crown safe and bring it with you. Temporary filling kits from a pharmacy can help for a day or two.
- Broken brace wire Cover the sharp end with orthodontic wax or sugar-free gum and call us.
- Bleeding after an extraction Bite firmly on a clean rolled-up handkerchief for 20 minutes. Call us if it won't stop.
